Revolutionary Care: An Oakland Story

The mission of the Sickle Cell Center of Excellence is to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life for individuals living with sickle cell and their families across the lifespan.

Our mission is accomplished through culturally responsive, comprehensive medical care and innovative research across the lifespan. Additionally, we incorporate imperative psychosocial support and education that advance sickle cell awareness and management on the local, national and global levels. We are committed to empowering people living with sickle cell and their families to be strong, active and informed participants in their care.
